  • Other conditioned actions should be available/active only when it is possible to use them. Seems this condition is fullfilled as everything can be done anytime, right?

This setting controls the input fields and the table output. In the main calculation it always displays decimals, which lets me more easily recognize the numbers as monetary amounts. Maybe that’s different in other countries. Would you like to have this option disable all decimals? Anyway this needs a description:

Changing colours is another question (Changing text/font/size/colour/etc. gives some hint/clue that something changes. If nothing changed, such change of colour is misleading. We use orientation anchors. Colour stability can serve this way.).
This question is about “Edit activity” button. I have two subactivities under my main CSA. I click on edit button for any of them, here I change nothing, click “Save”. Visualization of the application changes. Seems I’m not anymore at the CSA level but I’m now in the activity which I tried to edit. This could be misleading. Could we stay at the activity level where we were before (after the edit)?

Solid is a super fresh technology. The server we are using describes itself as prototype. We run it directly from the github sources. This specifically means that some quirks can occur here and then. And you asked me if I’d like to be Solid administrator. And I do not need to be, in such case this window does not show to me. Is it correct or I remember incorrectly? If so, it also should not display to anybody from “basic” users (group A users - trainees). Is it so?

Could it be possibly to add generic category, e.g. “(not assigned yet)” to the list of “Select category” for “Add expense”? Sometimes people doesn’t know what to fill/choose just want to add data. None category allows faster feeding with data, doesn’t exhaust psychologically when don’t know what to fill and change is always possible later on.

I tried to map application visualization based on where I click: SolidBase-description.odp (254.6 kB). I prepared example based on one of our CSA and I play with it. Could you check if I understood visualization transitions correctly, please? (I do not click at chart. I’m little bit lost then.)

The discourse forum is very smart in some aspects, and so it forbids answering too many times to a topic, as you can also edit your posts, so no need to create a new post for each new thought.

No, this window shows up for new solid users not created on the ld.solidbase.info server. Users from other servers like solid.community or so need explicit authorization of the app domain. This is not possible with the automatic popup, but you need to follow a relatively cumbersome procedure that I linked in the warning. This is not related to the admin status at all, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I use the miscallaneous category for this, but Iike the idea: #154.

  1. I’m not an admin. I created Expense Category “AAA” in the past. During
    Add expense I see this “AAA” Expense Category is available for me what is
    expected. Honza sees “AAA” also and Šárka (not admin) also sees this. Who
    has rights to create and describe Expense Categories and when, what are the
    limitations? If only admin has rights how I did it add “AAA” for all? Is it
    only because Honza has my budget with my categories loaded?

budgets always belong to a specific user and use the personalized budget categories descriptions, the latter stays even true if they become examples. The special priviledge of admins is to create, edit and delete the default presets for the categories.

  1. In the past I played also with changing description for Expense Categories. Honza reports that his translation from few days ago is gone (lost). Am I (or somebody not admin) able to change Expense Category content for others? If not why Honza lost translation? Is it because he loaded my budget with Expense categories fixed to Saved budget?

I have no explanation for the loosing of the translations. Did he enter them in the super admin field? There you need be very careful what you do, as you are also allowed to delete expense categories what means to also delete all translations.

  1. Honza as admin has two options to change Expense Categories (see attached picture):1. translation area as admin for everybody (is it so?)

That’s strange. If the translation is done in the second field it should be visible in budgets owned by him.

It is only propagated when you delete all expense categories. I agree this is quite cumbersome, and I can add an option to refresh all at once: #155

  1. But what we see is as follows. Honza Loads my budget using “From somewhere else” option. He sees “categories on: https://leos.ld.solidbase.info/public/solidbase/config/budget-categories.ttl” (“leos.ld” not “ampi.ld”). Categories change is not possible like described in point 3 above. But if we do two another steps: New budget creation + Save then he is able to change locally Expense category. But remaining problem is that change is local for him not (admin change) for others. For loaded budget from somebody else, which Expense categories are A. in use and B. editable by Honza (in principle for any admin)?

That seems basically to be also #155. Perspectively it would also be nice to have a possibility to change the budget categories ressource location at once or to allow mixed ressources for the category data: #156

For now it is important to know and have recommendation what are the conditions:

  • to be sure translation is applied

Only do translations that shall stay as admin. Changes in the normal user space will very probably get lost in this stage of development. The latter is really only for end users, say participants in the trainings.

  • to be sure translation will not be lost

Is it so? When change would be applied for others? Immediately or with new Budget creation, …?

Ok, I understand this way: once I modify some Expense Category (EC) as user (doesn’t matter how much but I Save it) then no change from Admin will propagate to mine. The same for loaded budget from somebody else, these descriptions of EC would be not influenced from my Configuration page. Is it like this?

Or admin can not change my user ECs at all once I created new budget (because with budget creation new/local instance of ECs is created for my budget)?

We started session with Honza by loading my project. We did not check prior this load if translations are available. I will ask Honza to clear browsers cash/data and login again to check if all translations are back.

Super admin fields (first fields) and also second fields at Configuration page, both description fields were empty once Honza worked with my loaded budget.

This point 4 extends point 3 about explanation that problem of EC visualization/change is possibly related (and not only?) to loaded budget from somebody else.

This is interesting. So, if Honza sees his changes are propagated inside mentioned file then he is sure that translation is done. After each tranlation session he just save this file and check if his changes are inside the file. This file can be used/imported if needed later on. Is it so?

The only problem is that file is relatively not transparent. I can imagine I would do but can’t ask Honza (and any other odmin) to check file content. I will ask Honza just to store this file after each translation session. Some better recommendation could come from you, but not now.

Clear. Just one note, each admin from any country is able to add EC and each admin from another country knows something new can be added/translated to his language. This is nice.
